Would it be wise to invest in ad placement on other sites? I figure the more ads, the better chance of reaching more people. Is this true? I also figure I could sell ad space on my own sites as well. 🙂

Sure, it can benefit you from both ends. Whether you want ads on your site, or to put your ads on another site. It can be costly on some sites though, but if you have a popular site, you may be able to change a lot for ad placement. So it equals out in some regards.
